Attendance – Nan Hyland, Deb Schmidle, Linda Beins, Adam Chandler, Maureen Morris, Kathy Chiang, Nancy McGovern
After everyone introduced themselves, the majority of the meeting was
devoted to discussing and reviewing the charge. Items that the group is
considering adding to the charge:
- Identify who in the CUL system is doing user assessment and usability
- Develop Training Opportunities for CUL staff
- Come up with best practices for user assessment and usability (by looking at how others have done similar work but on campus and at other institutions)
- Identify non-library consultants
- Raise awareness of studies and their results in CUL; Determine how data should be shared
- Determine how policies should be set
- Determine how the committee should work with other CUL groups working on similar projects e.g. the Research and Assessment Services Office.
Two items for future meetings:
*Usability and User Assessment Guilds
*Usability and User Assessment Curriculum
Regular Meetings will be every other week. 12-15 - 1:15 on Thursdays in
room 361 Mann Library. The next meeting will be October 5th.
Action Items:
Everyone - Read the 2003 Usability and User Assessment report. Ask Nan if you need another copy. Nan will draft a revised version of the charge based on items brought up in the meeting.
