Area Teachers Professional Development Day
Library instructors are encouraged to submit separate proposals since there are so many units interested in participating, including Olin, Mann, Ornithology, Physical Sciences and RMC. Tony has sent the information to the list of CUL Instruction Coordinators if others are interested, submission deadline is December 2.

ERM Demo for Public Services Staff
PSEC Reference & Outreach committee and the PSEC Instruction committee will be hosting a demo of Find Databases on the new ERM platform sometime after January 2006. Tony will contact Scott Wicks and work with the R&O chairs to coordinate this event on behalf of the Instruction Committee.

CUL-PUBLICSERVICES-L
All PSEC and supporting committees are now members of this list. We discussed the role of this new list in subsuming IRPC-L and CIRCADMIN-L and the implications of blending the distinct traffic of these two lists. It was noted that the open membership of IRPC-L was important to broad communication and discussion of reference and instruction related issues.

RefWorks training
RefWorks will send a professional trainer to campus for a day at no cost. This was well received at the Weill Cornell campus so Tony will investigate the possibility for Ithaca. This opportunity will complement the popular training sessions offered at ILR and other unit libraries.

Training opportunities for library instructors
We discussed a variety of potential opportunities for library instructors to garner skills and information, including partnering with the CUL Professional Development Committee, the Library Training Opportunities program, the Center for Learning and Teaching, and the Academic Technology Center. From the discussion, two immediate ideas emerged- a professional development week panel on structuring classes for different formats, with specific emphasis on managing credit classes; and an IRPC-style retreat in late summer on technology in instruction. Leah will develop draft proposals for these two activities for the next IC meeting in January.

Next meeting will be on January 10, 2006 at 1 PM, location TBD.
