Retreat on One Shot Workshops
Lance and Eric have been working on the logistics of a spring retreat conducted by Jerilyn Veldof, author of Creating the one-shot library workshop : a step-by-step guide. The retreat is scheduled to be held on March 6 an announcement will be sent out soon to CU-Lib.

Library Instruction Partner Program (LIPP). (Tony, et al.)
We heard a number of times from unit libraries that they have new staff that need instruction training. We’ve offered different events, forums, brown bags and the like but it occurred to us that the smaller units don’t have the staff to provide coaching for their newer instruction librarians like the larger units do. We came up with the idea for LIPP. After several discussions, we realized that none of us had done very much instructional coaching so we decided to contact David Way from the Center for Learning and Teaching. David, Committee members and a select group of other instruction librarians have completed a 4 part train-the-trainer series which we video taped. We are planning to create an online application form and announce this new service sometime in February. We have evaluation forms from CLT and other material to facilitate the process.

Review results from the Library Instruction Needs Assessment Survey.
Thomas and Camille shared the results of the survey. There were 42 responses to the survey. The Committee will use the results to help us prioritize our programs. Some of the leading topics were, Active Learning and Outcome Based Teaching, Student Learning Styles, How to Motivate Students and Stimulate Learning and Information and Training with New Classroom Technologies.
