Charge The Public Services Executive Committee (PSEC) represents the needs of the library user communities to the Library Administration. It’s responsibility is to coordinate public services activities within CUL, recommend policy, define goals and objectives related to public services activities, and foster responsive and innovative services which may be delivered in person or virtually over the web. The Public Services mandate includes areas, such as instruction, research consultations, circulation, outreach, and public computing. PSEC coordinates its activities and collaborates with staff in areas such as Collection Building, Information Technology, Library Operations, and Research and Assessment. Membership: PSEC is composed of staff from across the library system who manage a range of functional responsibilities. The group meets monthly, and standing members include the heads of public services at Olin, Mann, and the Law Library, and representatives from the domain clusters in Teaching, Research, Outreach, and Learning Services, RMC, CTS, CDExec, and D-LIT. In addition, the chairs of each of the PSEC Standing Committees (Reference & Outreach, Instruction, Public Computing), and a co-director from the Web Development Team. The Associate University Librarian for Teaching, Research, Outreach, and Learning Services chairs PSEC and represents public services and the unit libraries on the Library Executive Group.
