Public services administration at CUL is vested in the Public Services Executive Committee (PSEC). PSEC sets policy, defines goals and objectives, and coordinates decision making for public services system wide. Public services’ mandate includes the annex, circulation, reference, instruction, outreach, web development, interlibrary loan, document delivery, building coverage and facilities, security, stacks management, and assessment and usability. Public Services plays an integral role with other library units in collection building and web development.

Responsibilities:

• Represent the interests of users and public services staff of the 20    library units
• Respond to LMT requests relating to public services
• Establish committees and working groups as needed
• Serve as liaisons to each of the standing public service committees
• Meet bi-monthly
• Publish agendas and minutes on CU-Lib
• Hold public services forums on issues of common concern
• Work collaboratively with other library entities to support user needs
• Liaise with other executive groups, including CDExec, ITEC, TSEG, and LMT

Membership:

PSEC is composed of librarians from across the library system who manage a range of functional responsibilities. Standing members include the heads of public services at Olin, Mann, and the Law Library, and representatives from RMC, ASTech, IRIS unit libraries, the Annex, LTS, CDExec, and D-LIT. The Associate University Librarian for Instruction, Research, and Information Services chairs PSEC and represents public services on the Library Management Team.
