Public Services Executive Committee Committee Meeting September 14, 2005 1:30 PM 303 Olin Library Agenda: 1) Public Services administration website 2) Listservs (for example, IRPC) 3) Faculty spouse library privileges 4) Discussion of the Rhodes Hall Power Outage, Sept 24/25 Minutes: Attendees: Ross Atkinson, Eleanor Brown, Kathy Chiang, Pat Court, Anne Kenney, Zsuzsa Koltay, Xin Li, Pat Schafer, Scott Wicks 1) Public Services Administration Website: § This website is not on CommonSpot yet; it is just an outline to give the committee members a sense of what to expect § There are two main sections of the website o Public Services Administration Section § Committees, Policies, Reports, and Priorities o Committees § Each committee has their own section on the website Action Items: ü Tiffany to work on collecting all the policies regarding public services from existing websites ü Carla to add general phone numbers and emails at the department/system level o list key areas (ILL, Circulation, Reference); click on this to get the phone number, general email, and webpage ü look into updating the phone directory on the Staff Web ü PSEC and committees should review the website again when it is further along for approval ü Tiffany should make a PSadmin email list
2) Listservs § Three levels of email list use were discussed o broad use for Public Services Staff o Public Services Administrative staff o Individual Committee use Action Items: ü Tiffany will make a PublicServices-L email list for all people interested in general Public Services issues to subscribe to ü When Anne or another PSEC member would like to communicate with all members of the PS committees, then they should send the message to CUL_PSEC-L for the liaison to forward to their committee in a timely manner
3) Faculty spouse library privileges § This will continue to be handled on a case-by-case basis
4) Discussion on Rhodes Hall Power Outage § Maureen will put something on the gateway § Signs will be posted in Olin and Uris § Day Hall will send out a message to campus § Put warnings on the “Find” pages | ||
