Public Services Executive Committee Committee Meeting June 23, 2005 10:00 AM 703 Olin Library Agenda: Minutes: Attendees: Ross Atkinson, Carmen Blankinship, Eleanor Brown, Kathy Chiang, Michael Cook, Tony Cosgrave, Oliver Habicht, Mihoko Hosoi, Anne Kenney, Zsuzsa Koltay, Xin Li, Maureen Morris, Oya Rieger, Gail Steinhart § The first task for the Chairs and Co-Chairs of the new committees is to re-draft the committee charges, which will be reviewed on an annual basis § Revising the drafts does include proposing subcommittees § By Wednesday, June 29, PSEC would like to announce the new committee members, and PSEC would like these committees launched by July 1st § Liaisons have an active role in the committees, but the committee chair is separate from the liaison § Each committee member will be a working member (the individual’s activities within the committee will count towards performance reviews and promotions) § PSEC would like to promote lateral communication: § all committee meetings are open (except those deemed Executive meetings) § meeting dates, times, and agendas should be posted to CU-LIB before they occur § minutes should be taken at the meetings and posted to the website (soon to be developed) § PLEASE use the following format for the subject line for each agenda and minute(s) coming to CU-LIB · committee name, agenda, date · committee name, minutes, date § The new committees will have lots of leeway in the way they conduct their business, however, PSEC would enjoy seeing: § variable meeting formats (public service forums, brown bags, etc.) § joint committee meetings § Task groups can be assigned, and the members do not have to be just public service people § The Committees will report directly to PSEC, and PSEC will refer some issues to the committees § The first year, some issues will need to be referred to PSEC for agreement § As the comfort with the committees grows, more leeway will be given to the committees | ||
