Directions for Completing Reference Statistics Reporting System (RSRS) Year Totals
- Log into the RSRS system at http://rsrs.library.cornell.edu, password is located in the CUL Reference & Outreach Wiki. Make sure the only location you want is selected.
- Click on the Report/Export tab.
- Deselect all the libraries but your library.
- Deselect the categories "Dir" and "Equip" (Leave "Ref" and "Tech/Ref" selected).
- Deselect sublocations if you wish.
- Click on Other for date range, specify a week from the sampling period below. If you do only sampling, and don't record statistics year-round, then you can do just one report from Aug 7, 2006 to May 14, 2007.
Note: These dates include one extra day (until 12 am) after the sampling weeks from the original PDF Otherwise the system won't include reference questions after 11 pm because the time fields are not set up to include minutes.
- August 7 (12 am) - 21, 2006 (12 am) [includes 2 weeks]
September 4 (12 am) - 11, 2006 (12 am)
September 25 (12 am) - October 2, 2006 (12 am)
October 23 (12 am) - October 30, 2006 (12 am)
December 4 (12 am)- December 11, 2006 (12 am)
January 8 (12 am) - January 15, 2007 (12 am)
February 26 (12 am) - March 5, 2007 (12 am)
March 12 (12 am)- March 19, 2007 (12 am)
April 2 (12 am) - 9, 2007 (12 am)
April 23 (12 am) - 30, 2007(12 am)
May 7 (12 am) - 14, 2007(12 am)
- Click on Generate report.
- Write/save the total number of questions (noted after "Total transactions received" towards the top of the resulting screen).
- Do this 12 times (once for each sampling week).
- Total the twelve sampling weeks and multiply by 4.17 to obtain the total estimated questions for your library.
- Send total to your library/department director and the person who provides your unit''s data for the annual collection.
