Reference and Outreach Committee Meeting October 16, 2006 9:00 AM Olin 106 Agenda: Minutes: Reference and Outreach Committee Meeting Minutes, October 16, 2006 Attending: Thomas Mills, Angela Horne, Virginia Cole, Susette Newberry, Jill Powell, Bronwen Bledsoe, Jim Morris-Knower The group discussed the Oct 17 forum meeting, which will have 3 speakers ? Michael Friedman, Fred Muratori, and Howard Raskin. The topic is Outreach to Campus. Jim will ask for announcements at the start of each Forum meeting. The November Forum will be on outreach to off-campus. We generated a list of potential speakers. We discussed a potential retreat in January on assessment. There is an assessment and usability group we would contact if we decide to do this. Angela will also present at the Nov meeting on web subject guides. She and Kornelia will need about 30 minutes. WebFeat developments will most likely need time at a future Forum. CUL will be migrating off the SilverPlatter platform and that might be a topic for a future Forum as well. We also discussed the potential of inviting students to speak to give a users? perspective on their experiences with the library . It would be interesting (and, yes, labor-intensive) to get video interviews with users discussing the library. This qualitative info could nicely complement more quantitative efforts to measure patron satisfaction with the library. If pursued, this will be a project for the Spring semester. | ||
