1. October Forum.
1. Discussion of food service for Forums.  Menu will remain the same; Susette will inquire into use of biodegradable materials.
2. Discussion of Forum program: 1)Michael Engle on Find it! Databases and 2)Conference call with University of Chicago on Class Librarian program.  Committee agreed to develop questions for conference call as way of initiating discussion and to keep discussion moving. 
3. Also, we discussed having the Forums move between Kroch and Mann.

2. November and December Forums.
1. November Forum:  Angela and Kornelia will present the latest news and information from the Web Vision Team.
2. Text describing the November Forum will be provided in advance to Jim for announcement/invitation purposes.
3. December Forum: International Outreach.  Eg., STARR Foundation, Gates Foundation, Aginfo network.

3. Funding Request for Sun Ad/Budgeting
1. Overall, it was decided that we should stay within our initial budget.
2. Sun ad: committee approved $75 for small, two-day ad to promote chat Reference and 24/7 service.

                                                               i.      Is it better to have an article written by Sun staff?

                                                             ii.      What about purchasing hits on Facebook?

                                                            iii.      Use 24/7 Bookmark graphic as Facebook ad?

3. Need funds for Ref Blog Bookmark.
4. Angela will do mid-cycle budget report from which the committee can plan.

4. Voyager Upgrade
1. Will occur May 19-22, 2008, following classes.
2. 3 days of read-only mode.

5. Clarification of the Committee’s role vis a vis reference statistics.
1. Issue originated with Linda Miller.
2. This committee has ownership of definitions of what is a reference transaction vs directional, etc.
3. Clarification needed of what constitutes instruction vs reference.

                                                               i.      Should we have a retreat on this question in the Spring?

                                                             ii.      Should this committee and the Instruction committee convene to work out details, definitions, etc.

                                                            iii.      Should we get input from individuals as opposed to conducting a large debate?  We could create a policy statement to be discussed.

4. Reference Stats Retreat

                                                               i.      Focus on tangible outcome: Why do we collect stats and how are they used?

                                                             ii.      Perhaps this could be done as a Forum at which participants are convened into small discussion groups with outcomes brought back to the larger group.  Include CD Exec as sponsor?

6. Committee Wiki Access
1. Who can get in?
2. Must be Confluence user.
3. Linda Miller has expressed concern with stats access.
4. Take steps to protect: RSRS password.
