- Log into the RSRS system at http://rsrs.library.cornell.edu
. Make sure the only location you want is selected. - Click on the Report/Export tab.
- Deselect all the libraries but your library.
- Deselect the categories "Dir" and "Equip" (Leave "Ref" and "Tech/Ref" selected).
- Deselect sublocations if you wish.
- Click on Other for date range, specify a week from the sampling period below. If you do only sampling, and don't record statistics year-round, then you can do just one report from September 10, 2007 to July 6, 2008.
Note: These dates include one extra day (until 12 am) otherwise the system won't include reference questions after 11 pm because the time fields are not set up to include minutes.

September 10 (12 am)- September 23 (12 am) (includes 2 weeks)
October 15 (12 am) - October 21 (12 am)
November 12 (12 am) - November 18 (12 am)
2008
January 7 (12 am) - 13 (12 am)

- Click on Generate report.
- Write/save the total number of questions (noted after "Total transactions received" towards the top of the resulting screen).
- Do this 12 times (once for each sampling week).
- Total the twelve sampling weeks and multiply by 4.17 to obtain the total estimated questions for your library.
- Send total to your library/department director and the person who provides your unit''s data for the annual collection.
