2008-2009 Directions for Completing Reference Statistics Reporting System (RSRS) Year Totals 1. Log into the RSRS system at http://rsrs.library.cornell.edu. Make sure the only location you want is selected. 2. Click on the Report/Export tab. 3. Deselect all the libraries but your library. 4. Deselect the categories "Dir" and "Equip" (Leave "Ref" and "Tech/Ref" selected). 5. Deselect sublocations if appropriate. 6. Click on “Other” for date range, and specify a week from the list of sampling weeks below. (Note that if you do only sampling, and don't record statistics year-round, then you can do just one report from August 18, 2008 (12 am) to July 20, 2009 (12 am). 7. Note that all specifications should include one day past the last data collection day until 12 am (or one minute into the next day); while transactions are stamped to the minute, the report form only allows you to specify by hour.) 8. Click on Generate report. 9. Write/save the total number of questions (noted after "Total transactions received" towards the top of the resulting screen). 10. Repeat 12 times (once for each sampling week). 11. Total the twelve sampling weeks and multiply by 4.17 to obtain the total estimated questions for your library. 12. Send the total to your library/department director and the person who provides your unit’s data for the annual collection.
